How to File a Complaint
As a consumer of mental health services, you have the right to receive the best care possible. If you are dissatisfied with a mental health service or provider in Guilford County, the first step is to share your concerns directly with the person or agency providing the service. If you have done this and are still not satisfied with the result, you may choose to contact The Guilford Center to file a formal complaint. You may make your complaint in several ways:

Moses Cone Behavioral Health provides mental health services, including in-patient services, as part of the Moses Cone Wesley Long Hospital System.
The Guilford Center, Behavioral Health and Disability Center, offers assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 800.853.5163, any time, day or night, to speak with a mental health professional for information or an appointment. With a network of more than 300 providers, The Guilford Center can offer services you need, and offer to help you identify a community resource that can help you.
Family Service of the Piedmont provides comprehensive counseling services to individuals, children, and families, operating on a sliding fee based on income. In addition FSP works to eliminate family and domestic violence.
Sanctuary House provides day programs and support for individuals with chronic mental illnesses, with the goal of helping consumers live more independently.
Homeless Prevention Coalition of Guilford County provides community planning around issues of homelessness and transition into permanent housing. The programs of its member agencies span a wide range of services.
The Guilford County Substance Abuse Coalition raises awareness of substance abuse issues in Guilford County and helps connect people to substance abuse services.
